The insight behind the Map

Illustrative example, not a client result: a customer asks to move a delivery date. The delivery manager could own the decision if capacity and existing commitments are visible. They can choose an available slot within those commitments. A change outside them needs a recommendation with options and consequences. Extra spending follows the business’s existing approval limits. The first step is to agree those boundaries and observe one ordinary case.

My provisional reading: the delivery task may have moved while authority to change the promise stayed with the founder. Before calling it a confidence problem, check whether the manager knows the permitted choices and can see current capacity. If authority and information are clear, examine capability, competing commitments or whether reasonable decisions have previously been reversed.
