Interpreting a founder independence score

A self-reported score summarises answers, not verified operating performance. Read it alongside the five dimensions, indicated constraint and examples from actual work before deciding what to change.

Look at the evidence

  1. Review the dimension profile rather than the total alone.

  2. Ask what recent cases support or challenge the answers.

  3. Choose one pattern to investigate and decide whether a conversation would help.

Illustrative example

A case to think through

Two businesses can receive the same total with different strengths and constraints. Their appropriate next investigations may therefore differ.

This is a hypothetical operating example, not a client result.

Avoid a misleading conclusion

Treating a score as a valuation, certification or guaranteed readiness threshold overstates what the Assessment establishes.

Leadership independence is compatible with valuable founder involvement. Look for managers who can own outcomes within clear boundaries, coordinate shared constraints and surface risk appropriately. An org chart or confident meeting performance is a starting point for questions, not proof that the team can operate independently.

Your evidence check

Bring supporting and contrary examples. A self-reported answer is a starting point; these notes do not calculate or validate a score.

Does a higher score prove my business can run without me?

No. The result is indicative and self-reported. Real operating evidence and appropriate review are needed to validate that conclusion.
